Fares & ticketing

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) oversees fare structures and manages the myki ticketing system across Victoria.

The fares are based on where you are travelling:

  • Metropolitan areas – covering Melbourne and its suburbs
  • Regional Victoria – covering the rest of Victoria

Your fare depends on:

  • Where you travel, including zones (if you are using myki)
  • Ticket type, such as a 2-hour or daily ticket
  • Whether you are eligible for a concession or free travel
  • Any additional discounts you can claim

To travel, you’ll need a myki card. Choose between:

  • A physical myki card
A Mobile myki (available on compatible Android devices)
